Conterra Recognizes OcularIP’s Contribution in Winning New Businesses

Conterra Broadband services, one of the nation’s largest Ethernet carriers, has acknowledged the significant role that Local Backhaul Networks’ (LBN) OcularIP SLA portal application played in helping Conterra gain a competitive advantage and win new businesses.

The LBN OcularIP is an award-winning SLA and IP circuit management portal platform, developed and refined over several years, according to company officials.

“OcularIP is intuitive and very customizable, which allows us to show real-time performance metrics that best showcase our capabilities,” said Craig Simpson, vice president of sales at Conterra.

Service providers looking to succeed in the fast growing market segments of mobile backhaul, Ethernet business and Cloud services have resorted to using this application to provide each customer a customized Ocular IP SLA assurance portal.

Also, given that reporting of Service Level Agreement performance has become mandatory in the mobile backhaul and commercial Ethernet transport markets, Conterra’s choice of a portal solution that is manufacturer agnostic is even more significant.

“OcularIP is an open architecture, so we feel confident it will grow with us as we install future technologies,” said Simpson in a statement.

Conterra applies its own fiber, customized microwave networks and aggregated fiber from smaller providers to reach sites with high-capacity Ethernet services, at the most economical costs.

The company specializes in the design, deployment and operation of customized high capacity backhaul networks in under-served areas. During the last decade it has connected more than a thousand rural sites in eighteen states, bringing high-capacity transport service to the cellular and educational industries.
